At The Pretty Decent Beer Co, we started out with modest aims. We wanted to brew modern, progressive beer which people would happily while away an afternoon drinking, and to run a small, local business that has a positive impact on all those who interact with it. We think both of these things are Pretty Decent things to do.

Whilst our focus is always on bringing our drinkers new, exciting beers - we’ve never taken our eye off the second half of our goal and have found various ways to make sure we live this.

We have donated thousands of pounds to local, progressive causes which drive positive change - making a donation from every single beer we have sold from day one.

We’ve held inclusive events in our taproom which look to engage all members of our community. And most recently, we have set up the Pretty Decent Beer Co. Running Club.

We held our inaugural run in January - and were blown away by the support. We saw people from all over London, of all abilities, show up on a grey Saturday morning in January to run with us and enjoy a beer afterwards.

We are firm believers that no runner should be left behind, and so ensure that we have people along the way of all paces so that runners of every ability can attend. We also want the event to be open to everyone, so it’s free to join - with a beer on us afterwards to reward runners for their efforts.

We are so lucky to be surrounded by the beauty of the flats, and getting out on them whilst doing some exercise can be great for your mental and physical health. As can engaging with other people in your community.

And that’s exactly why we set the run club up. The last few years of Covid uncertainty have hit us all hard and so we want to create a positive event as we look forward to a more hopeful 2022.

Our next event is on Saturday 21st May at 11am. For now, we’ll continue with a 5km route but we’re looking to add more options as we get feedback on what people would like to see. We’d love to see even more new faces next time. Sign-up via the events page on our website at
