Arch Day is an initiative by The Arch Company, TfL and Network Rail to shine a spotlight on the valuable contribution made by the businesses in the arches. With events happening across the country, our flagship event is this year taking place at the Avenue Road arches on Saturday 9 July, 12-6pm.

Proud to be UK’s largest small business landlord, we are supporting many small and independent businesses by sponsoring Arch Day 2022’s flagship festival at the Avenue Road Arches.

This is the culmination of our annual #loveyourlocalarches campaign designed to raise awareness and profile our arch based customers.

Taking place on Saturday 9th July from 12-6pm, the Avenue Road Arches will host something for everyone – from complimentary family-friendly fun such as face painting and outdoor games, to food, drinks, music and DJ sets.

This is the third year running for Arch Day. Across England and Wales, our arches are home to 3,800 small businesses in versatile spaces that are put to all sorts of good uses. By their very nature, railway arches tend to be set away from main roads and areas of footfall. Arch Day is therefore all about raising awareness of some of the fantastic small businesses that people might not even know are on their doorsteps.

The Avenue Road Arches are home to a unique ecosystem of small businesses including Fiore Truck, Mbox, Ramble Cafe, The Cider House, The Reformery, the community station Tracks and a number of motor repair businesses. It is exciting to see how the area is evolving into an important hub for like-minded independent businesses.

Well-loved neighbourhood hangout Tracks is leading the occasion, curating the series of performances on a pop-up stage and adding garden-style seating outside of their community hub. Their contemporary cuisine and impressive curation of international drinks will be on offer, as well as their infamous record selection, with visitors invited to stay and enjoy the series of shows taking place throughout the day. New neighbour Fiore Truck will be offering a special Arch Day menu for passers-by to enjoy their Italian dishes and Climb A Tree Pilates will be opening The Reformery studio 12pm-4pm for introductory pilates classes.

According to The Forest Editor and Tracks Director Aiden d'Araujo:

“We are excited to be collaborating with The Arch Company on their Arch Day 2022 festival. The Avenue Road arches have evolved from being a secluded strip off the beaten track into the beating heart of Forest Gate with small independent like-minded businesses."

“Cross arch collaborations and events like Arch Day 2022 will help realise our vision of the Avenue Road Arches developing into Forest Gate's second high street, with the regeneration further boosting our status as a destination attracting new businesses, driving footfall and adding long term, sustainable value to the local community in our Newham neighbourhood."

Forest Gate North Labour Councillor Rachel Tripp adds:

“I’d love to see as many residents as possible from Forest Gate coming along on the 9th of July to sample the wares of the small businesses there and celebrate their achievements. If you’ve never had a coffee in Ramble before, sampled the pasta from Fiore, or had Tracks’ famous hangar fries, then there couldn’t be a better day to come by and see what our arches have to offer.”

To make the day as successful as possible, The Arch Company has also offered other businesses in destinations across England and Wales match-funding grants of up to £2,500 - in partnership with the community action charity Groundwork London – to support the special events or offers their customers will run on the day.

I very much look forward to seeing you there.
